AJ and Kari: Happy Two-Week Anniversary! Just before I left for the Bahamas to shoot a wedding there, I documented Kari and AJ's wedding right here in mid-Missouri. What stood out most was this: Kari and AJ were SURROUNDED by loved ones . . . parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, siblings, nieces, nephews along with friends friends friends.
It's a dream-come-true for documentary photographers . . . real, special, and intensely emotional moments between family members to document at every turn. Watch their slideshow by clicking here to see what I mean.
You could tell how much Kari and AJ love the LITTLE ONES in their lives . . . including them when getting ready:
. . . and all during the ceremony
. . . by the way, dry eyes were hard to find during the ceremony
. . . and during the reception (and check it out, the photo above and the one of Kari dancing with her dad below, were made by Jennifer who helped me that day; these shots are two of my FAVORITES!). Kari's dad sang to her just before dancing . . . what a moment for kari
. . . and for their friends
. . . and just look at the love in these other dances with family members: AJ with his mom
~ and Kari with her grandpa
. . . oh and the rehearsal dinner held the night before was at the Tiger Hotel's newly renovated banquet room on the top floor. AJ is a chef at the Tiger, so the food looked and tasted INCREDIBLE!
and the room glows with light and beautiful artwork on the walls
along with incredible almost-aerial views of downtown Columbia . . . a perfect location for rehearsal dinners!
Congrats, Kari + AJ. Thanks for picking SilverBox to document your beautiful, family-and-love-filled day! And if you haven't watched it yet, be sure to enjoy their wedding day slideshow.
and photos from susi + david's wedding in the bahamas last weekend are soon to following . . . so check back!

jenny + daniel wed under a big white tent ~ Country Club of Missouri
Jenny + Daniel's wedding was just too wonderful to not share a bit more....
And it went from spring to SUMMER as guests entered the Tiger Ballroom for Friday night's rehearsal dinner. A basket of flip-flops was awaiting with a sign that instructed all to take off their shoes "you're at the beach!" Kent's Floral Design had done a remarkable job transforming the historic ballroom into a tropical paradise...of course the steel drum band really helped set the stage.
There's nothing more fabulous than a lovely wedding inside a tent. (Even if the sun refuses to shine outside.)
OK, perhaps things are a bit more fabulous when you call in the Marines! (Daniel, his dad and all of his brothers have served in the Marine Corps with his youngest brother / best man, pictured below, just getting into town a few hours before the ceremony)
Not only had Kent and his staff transformed the Tiger the night before and decked out the tent that morning, when we arrived we got to see the transformation of the Country Club from its "business-formal" standard to ENCHANTED! wow!!!
[have we said "wow!" yet??]
note this garland-drenched mirror above the buffet PERFECTLY FRAMING this delicious Edith Hall cake.If there was a ledge inside or out, (see above and also below) why of course there were FLOWERS!
even flowers in daniel's neice's hair.
how sweet!Annika created some amazing ceremony images, like this one of Daniel with his dad over his shoulder (note a family resemblence?) seeing Jenny start down the aisle. That "being enveloped by family" is one of our favorite things about wedding.
could a wedding get ANY BETTER? well, yes:
(how cute is Frank La Mantia helping Daniel's nephews fully drench their marshmellows + strawberries in the melted chocolate...) BUT WAIT, W-A-I-T there's even MORE . . . . . Aaron Rose, fabulous [FWB] DJ for one, and ok, EVEN MORE... maybe pictures will be more comprehensive than words:
if haven't seen this slideshow, you have no idea what you're missing...it may load a wee bit slow (?) but it is SO WORTH the wait. PLUS you'll be hearing the uber-talented Hilary Scott. Buy her CDs...you won't be disappointed!)

Lynn & Randy (and Everybody Came!)
My blog entries are about 2 weeks behind, BUT what an amazing 2 weeks it's been for SilverBox couples (correction: "SilverBox FAMILIES" is more like it!)
Tracy & Michael (married 6/23/05) had a BABY BOY, a baby boy who has his own blog -- you can read about his adventures HERE.
Above is a picture I DIDN'T take (but LOVE: esp. that perfect negative space between top of Jonah's head and the curve of Tracy's chin) How cute is that boy!! Tracy thanks so much for emailing the image -- I can't wait to meet him.
AND while downtown at Thursday night's Twilight Festival, Zoe & I ran into Jon & Liz Horn (married 5/29/05) pushing a STROLLER with little 11-day old Charlotte Horn sleeping inside. When Zoe & I peeked in, Charlie was making a little pouty lip...so cute! Zoe couldn't resist touching her little cheecks and as we walked away Zoe said, "I LOVE her!"
Jennifer & Devin Brown (7/23/04) expect to welcome their baby boy to the world sometime in July with Megan & Justin Riley (7/20/05) not too far behind. Hey Kim can we have a big Everybody-Bring-Their-Babies-Party on YOUR NEW PATIO??? (And hey, FYI: we should post up some pictures of your new house.) Oh, and JUST TODAY, I saw Kim Adkins mom. As she was tying tulle around 200 chairs, she mentioned how much fun it is to have grandbaby Max around ....wouldn't getting everyone together be so much fun!!! And there are lots of other babies now I haven't even mentioned....these are just the newest ones. AND, you know it just wouldn't be a SilverBox party if there were no Losapios...
what if...
(know where I'm going with this, Kim?)
we "invited everybody, and everybody came"
OK, that settles it...now I simply must put LYNN & RANDY's SLIDESHOW to that fun Everybody Came song. Once it's in my head, I just can't shake it. Lynn & Randy were married in the middle of winter in beautiful, warm Hawaii but hosted their reception June 1st much closer to home. They're from Boonville and invited friends and family to come join them at The Tiger Hotel...and, you guessed it, Everybody Came. CLICK HERE TO SEE (and hear!) JUST WHAT I MEAN".
(Kim's convinced me to give her slideshow approach a try. If you haven't done so yet, you'll need to download a free version of QuickTime Player here. First off, install the free software. Secondly: play movie and enjoy!
signing off, thinking about babies & parties and yep, this crazy song
