FUNESTA ~ ringing in summer at Grant school

adam + kristen's slideshow will be posted later today. oh what a wedding!

at annika's suggestion, i made these announcement cards from friday night pictures to alert guests about said slideshow. kristen is a graphic designer, so i was a bit nervous about creating last-minute cards that were up to the kristen-graham-level-of-cool, but was pleased as punch with how these came out:

and just WAIT till you see kristen + adam's wedding images. oh my my!!!
HERE's a little sneak preview of pictures made possible thanks to the torrential downpour sneaking up on us!

BUT FIRST, here's a slideshow of ALL annika-miller-imagery. there are 1001 things i love about our neighborhood elementary school ~ spending some time at FUNESTA, Grant School's annual end-of-the-year no-cost celebration, shows, in sugary-laden colors, some of the richness i love. thanks annika for doing this!

a favorite funesta activity (thanks to super cool SuperMom julie davis) is the human slot machine.
it takes 1 bench, 1 bell (or triangle this year!) and 3 adults with 3 fruits each.
pretty easy set up. but whoa the fun.
if the contestant kid stikes the triangle when the fruits match 3-in-a-row, they're a winner.

you've gotta see it to believe how much intense concentration and concentrated fun are found in this event. (annika this next one is especially GREAT!)

look closely at the collage above and you'll find, too, SilverBox photographer kim wade (and so she wouldn't kill me, there i am, too -- oh, and there's paul; hey we all go down together team)

school's out.
summer's on.
(and kim's back from shooting in the bahamas!)
life is good.

Great job Annika!! What beautiful images!

Funesta looks like a great way to wrap up the school year. Makes me want to be a kid again. Hmmmmm, I think I'm going to call my best bud from grade school and say "hey". It was fun seeing the kids with all their pals! Thanks for capturing the moments.
