. . . is hosting their 2nd wedding photojournalism contest.
[*proud biz partner note:
Kim Wade PLACED HIGH
in this contest last year]
Members of the Wedding Photojournalist Association are invited to to submit 10 images from 2007. We love being part of that organization! We're inspired by the work we see other WPJA photogs producing plus scrolling thru the award winning images (which is fun to do...take a look here; then click "see the latest contest winners") really helps us refine our "eye" . . .
But oh do we feel the pressure when trying to identify which of the many images we love should be submitted for peer review.
OK, not just peer review...WPJA consistently has amazingly talented + accomplished judges. This time the entries are being judged by Carol Guzy (3-time Pulitzer Prize winner) as well as Martha Rial + David Leeson + Vincent Laforet (who have their own Pulitzers as well.) And that's just round one! BRIDES magazine editors step in to determine the final outcomes. Geez.
anyway, seemed like we might as well post the images we're submitting....
and, look here!
i've finished my 10 submissions nearly 12 hours BEFORE the deadline...
This was tough, my MOST FAVORITE documentary image is the one image that couldn't be submitted:
There is a rule against submitting previous WPJA-contest-winning images....but hey, when I shoot one image, I generally have MANY other similar shots, so I've uploaded THIS ONE instead:

the photo in the hospital was so special. I love the duck one, the color on the bottom of her dress just tied it all together.
So I *have* to be in WPJA to play??? Too bad.
Just gives me more umph and motivation for this year, though!
